The Private Equity and Venture Capital Training Program by PEVCA Malta invites both members and non-members to enhance their understanding of the industry. The program covers investment strategies, operational frameworks and the role of private equity in economic growth, with a focus on ESG factors. It aims to promote innovation and sustainability in Malta's economy. This program combines academic rigor with practical, real-world application through case-based learning.

Gavin Ryan

Gavin Ryan has twenty years’ experience as a private equity fund manager. Mr Ryan managed a $30m Advent International Affiliate Fund, a $200m Fund part of Soros Fund Management and a €2.5bn Green Energy Asset Manager. Before he was in investment banking with HSBC and Nomura. Gavin Ryan is Principal at Wider Europe Capital Management Ltd, specializing in private equity advisory, training, and governance, with nearly 20 years of experience. Gavin has an Engineering Degree from Cambridge and an MBA from McGill.
Albert Alsina

Albert Alsina has over 30 years of international experience in general management roles across various countries, including the USA, UK, and Brazil. He founded Mediterrania Capital Partners in 2013, and serves as Chairman of their Investment Committees. Mr Alsina is an Associate Professor at EADA Business School in Barcelona and is on the Board of AVCA and Anne Fundació. He holds multiple degrees, including an AMP from Harvard, and has authored the book "Value Creation in Private Equity."

Herald is an expert in financial engineering and sustainability, with significant experience in both public and private sectors. He has served as CEO of Malta Investments Government and Director General at the Ministry for Finance, focusing on financial policy. Currently, he sits on various international boards, chairs the Maltese Turkish Business Council, and launched the Private Equity and Venture Capital Association Malta in 2024. Additionally, he leads operations for a pan-European real estate development group specializing in hospitality and affordable housing.
